Traceability is a basic requirement in any quality laboratory, including ISO 17025 accredited and GxP certified ones. This includes traceability of samples, documents, data, results, equipment, calibrations, reference standards and chemicals.

- To save a history of records and to enable full audit trail
- To ensure the 21 CFR Part 11 requirements
